Introduction:
As part of a citywide initiative, this project aimed to reduce carbon emissions in public housing facilities by improving energy efficiency and integrating renewable energy sources.
Challenges:
The council needed to retrofit older buildings, each with unique layouts and infrastructure, without disrupting residents’ daily lives.
Solution:
IO Energy Solutions implemented energy-efficient lighting, upgraded insulation, and installed a centralised BMS to control energy usage across all buildings. Solar panels were also introduced in key locations.
Results:
The decarbonisation initiative achieved a 30% reduction in carbon emissions across the buildings, and residents experienced lower energy bills and improved comfort.
